Unfortunately, right-click disablers do not protect your images as you might think.

Why right-click disablers are not the best solution:

• Right-click disablers don't work on all browsers
• Right-clicking is not the only way to download an image. In fact, when viewing an image, it's already downloaded onto your hard drive.
• Some web designers install these disablers for clients who then have a false sense of security, thinking their images are protected.
• Disablers make it harder for your clients to legitimately download an image while considering a possible purchase, while doing nothing to curb the real thieves.
• They're annoying to many people, some of whom may be your potential collectors. 

For example, when many people browse and want to go back, they right-click and click the back key or back from the pop-up menu. It's easier and faster than navigating around the screen to click back, it's more efficient and it doesn't aggravate carpal tunnel as much.

• They are unprofessional.
  Ask yourself this: would you buy something from a site that reminds you its images are protected by copyright everytime you go to use right-click (even when your pointer is nowhere near an image)? I thought not! Disabling right click suggests a lack of professionalism to users.
  
  
• They are insulting.
  Most of your visitors will come to your site looking to buy something, or to find information. Only a small percentage of your visitors will land at your site with the intention to steal from it. By trying to protect yourself from the minority, you effectively insult the majority, who will use the right-click menu for legitimate reasons. Do you really expect your visitors to trust you when you offer them "helpful reminders" that imply you can’t trust them?
