This doc outlines the steps to take to create a Product and Payment Link in Stripe.
Create your Product
- Login to your Stripe account
- In the left sidebar menu, select Product Catalog.
- Click the blue + Create Product button (upper right corner).
- Click + Add a product
- Add your product title, a product description, and upload your image.
- Select your Product Tax Code preference.
- Add other information on the form as you find necessary.
- IMPORTANT: Be sure to set your individual art products as One-off because this can't be edited later. You will have to start over and create a new product if it's set to Recurring.
- Add your price.
- Select your Include tax in price preference.
- Click Next.
- Review.
- Click Add Product.
OR start with creating your Payment link which will prompt you to create your product.
Create your Payment Link
- Go back to the left sidebar and click Payment Links.
- Click the blue New button (upper right corner).
- Select your product from the product list on the left.
- Choose whether or not to allow customers to adjust the quantity and set any limits.
- Check your options.
Shipping addresses are not automatically collected, so be sure to check Collect customers' addresses and then click Billing and shipping addresses. You can then decide on any limitations on shipping destinations.
- Add any shipping rates you may want.
- Go through Advanced Options.
- Once everything is set, click the blue Create Link button in the upper right corner.
- Copy the link. (The embed code will not work)
In your FASO control panel, create a button in your page text box and paste the link.
See this FAQ for how to create a button on your FASO site:
Add Link to Text, to Image, Use a Link Button
Notes:
- Ensure your product title is unique so it is easy to identify in your Product list.
- Each link opens a separate cart, so your collectors will only be able to purchase one at a time.
- You can create a payment link with all the variants of a particular work. However, when the button is clicked, ALL options are added to the cart, and the collector must uncheck the ones they don't want.
