Spy View not matching Visitors in Detailed Reports

The Spy view doesn't always match what you see in your detailed reports. That’s completely normal and just comes down to how each view works.

The Spy view shows what’s happening on your site in real time,  so you can watch new visits as they come in.

Your detailed report, on the other hand, is cached to keep things running smoothly and are updated about every  10 minutes. If you get a sudden wave of traffic, it may take a few minutes before those visits show up in your main reports.

It’s also worth noting that the Spy view shows everything hitting your site ncluding bots, crawlers, and other automated traffic. Once the data is processed, our system filters out anything that isn't a real human visitor. Clicky, the analytics software we use, constantly updates its filters to remove this kind of traffic.

Basically, the Spy view gives you a live snapshot of all activity as it happens, while your detailed reports show the accurate, filtered numbers you can trust.
