Why don't I have access to subscribers to my New Art Alerts?

The Boldbrush Art Alerts feature is a service we provide. There are other places besides your site where the signup is offered. Think of it as something that is embedded in your site, just like you might embed an Instagram post or a tweet. You couldn't customize an embedded post, and this, not being part of your site, also can't be changed.

It is different from your newsletter. We run the New Art Alerts and those subscribers are subscribing to a service we run. Not to a service you run. That's why we offer the ability to subscribe to those two things separately.

Since we (BoldBrush) run the New Art Alerts, and we offer them in multiple places, such as

We also cross promote your newsletter on those signup pages.

By us running one service (New Art Alerts) and you running the other (your newsletter) you benefit in both directions. Believe it or not, not everyone WANTS the artist to know who they are from the outset. They want to follow your art, but maybe don't want to hear from you yet about anything else.

Because it is run by BoldBrush, we do not disclose the full email addresses for the art alert subscribers. However, if a subscriber comments on your artwork, we let that person know that their email address will be shared with you, the artist, at that time.

Our New Art Alert service allows them to do that. And for us to send people who trust the BoldBrush Informed Collector brand to subscribe to them without them having to turn their personal details over to an artist they're not quite ready to engage with.

Ultimately if you decide this feature (which is technically an embedded widget of a BoldBrush service) is not something you wish to take advantage of it can be disabled on your site. It would still be enabled on other properties Boldbrush runs where your art appears (if the visibility is set to Public on the piece).
