You can paste PayPal generated code into a text editing screen. This is useful if you wish to have a button for a purpose OTHER than selling artwork (like selling a book, a workshop, a calendar, even commission fees).
For framed vs unframed work, then see FAQ:
Show Options for Framed or Unframed Art
NOTE: PayPal is constantly making changes and we are not informed of any changes they make.
As of 1/20/2026, this is the info from PayPal on how to create a custom button.
- login to your PayPal dashboard
- click My PayPal
- click Payment Links & Buttons orCreate Payment Links & Buttons

- choose Payment buttons
- make sure One Set Price is selected
- enter Price
- Quantity - leave blank
- Images - leave blank
- for Button labels, select Buy Now for Single Button
- click Build It (upper right corner)

- You will need to copy BOTH codes.
Both need to be added to FASO.

2nd: Add BOTH button codes to FASO
- from FASO Control Panel
- Go to the editing screen for the page where you want the button
- Click on HTML (upper right in icons bar)
- Paste in code
if you have content in the html screen already, paste the code where you want it to show - this is often at the bottom of the existing text - Click Update
- Click Save Changes (or Add & Save Now if it's a new page)
NOTE: the button will NOT appear on your editing page in your FASO control panel

Troubleshooting:
If you come across a problem inserting both codes in the html screen, add the 1st code, Part 1, into the Code Injection Head Javascript section as follows:
In Workshop editing screen:
- click Advanced SEO and Code button (bottom right)
- click Show Code_Injection_on_this_Page (just above Save button - bottom left)
- paste Part 1 code into Head Javascript field
- Save Changes
Back in the Workshop editing screen:
- Click on HTML (upper right in icons bar)
- Paste in Part 2 code
- Click Update
- Click Save Changes (or Add & Save Now if it's a new page)

NOTE: Custom PayPal buttons are generated through your Paypal account. Sales via a custom button do not go through the FASO cart. Hence, they will not listed in the Sales and Customers screen and will not receive a FASO sale notification. |
